When teacher Dayna Abraham started her membership site, by her own admission, she didn’t know exactly what she was doing. Despite having over a decade of experience working with young children, her own son simply didn’t fit in with the traditional school setting. As a result, she pulled her son out of his school to focus on homeschooling, and started blogging to help occupy her newfound free time. When an early post about her son went viral, she rapidly grew her online audience, and soon after launched her first course. Though she had many enrollees, many failed to graduate – and she needed to find a new way to impart the valuable information she had learned. These challenges led her to create Calm The Chaos, where she helps parents of challenging and misunderstood kids and give their kids a chance to thrive like never before. Today, Dayna joins the podcast to talk about the challenges she faced as a parent and teacher that led her to her present-day success, why you don’t need a Ph. D to teach something hugely valuable to massive audiences, and the power of turning a child’s struggle into their super power.

Key Takeaways

  • How Dayna realized her work in the traditional classroom setting helped “cookie-cutter” kids – and why trying to push kids into boxes that don’t fit them simply doesn’t work.
  • What Dayna learned from the failed attempt at online courses – and how this led her to the thriving, effective membership site she now runs.
  • The ripple effect of Dayna’s membership site – and why it’s time for you to launch, even if you’re questioning whether or not your idea has the power to change the world.

Memorable Quote

  • If you’re led to tell your story and you’re led to share what’s going on and create a tribe of people that all have been through similar walks together, then you can be that leader. You don’t have to have so much more education to lead that tribe of people.” – Dayna Abraham
